Del Bravo Al Plata is comprised by more than 49 Latinamerican artists that participated in the Contest of Latinamerica's First Contemporary Photography Contest. Del Bravo Al Plata will be exhibited in the Foto Museo Cuatro Caminos from July 27th to September 29th.
Latin America is considered to be one of the richest places in photo production, the FM4C has been consolidated as a space whose objective is to promote, disseminate, recognize and stimulate the work that photographers and visual artist do in this region through different genres, expressions and applications of photography.
The contest was geared towards professional and non-professional photography, visual artists and photographer lovers, either Latinamerican or foreigners with continuous residence in Latinamerica. It consisted of two categories, “18 to 34 years” and “35 years and up”.
The jury included 5 specialists
Marta Gilli, director of the National Gallery of Jeu de Paume in Paris, France. She was previously responsible for the photography department of the La Caixa Foundation. She collaborates in publications of El País and El Mundo.
Idurre Alonso, curator of modern and Latin American art. She serves as Associate Curator of Latin American Art at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, California.
Laura González-Flores, curator and current researcher at the Institute of Aesthetic Research of the UNAM in Mexico City.
Ticio Escobar, curator, art critic and cultural promoter. He is the Director of the Visual Arts Center / Museo del Barro in Asuncion, Paraguay.
José Luis Falconi, Researcher at the Department of Art History and Architecture at Harvard University, he is also Creative Director of Art Life Lab.
