At 83 years old, Enrique Metinides is still creating new work. Known for his work as a photographer of Nota Roja where his photographs were primarily published for over 30 years in the newspaper La Prensa, this exhibition of over 120 works includes a significant number of photographs shown here for the first time. Included in the exhibition are video clips by Metinides as well as a selection of toys from his vast collection (begun over 40 years ago) and even his first camera and press credentials.
Trisha Ziff has worked with Metinides for over a decade. In 2011 there was a major exhibition of his work for the Festival of Photography in Arles, France. In 2012 he collaborated with her on 101 Tragedies of Enrique Metinides both an exhibition and book with Aperture, New York,. In 2015 she directed the feature documentary: The man who saw too much and produced this exhibition in collaboration with Isabel del Rio.
