Since its founding, the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (Fonca) has uninterruptedly promoted twenty-seven generations of the Jóvenes Creadores programm. More than three thousand two hundred young people from all over the country have been able to be granted with a scholarship to carry out their projects and take a decisive step in their artistic careers. The program, by privileging creation, fostering interdisciplinarity and following up on ideas, allows the support system not only to function as an investment in new generations and to work as a base for career development, but also as a laboratory that moves the creative foundations of artists and provides a space where it is valid to ask new questions to find new paths.
Having a national field of action, it receives projects of all kinds, so that in his fellows there is always a diversity of proposals that cannot be summarized in a few aesthetic lines or in a single language. The character that defines the program is plurality and eclecticism, the different discourses and he variety of visual solutions.
An example of this is the exhibit Creation in Motion. Generation 2015/2016, where we will see a small sample of what young architecture, applied arts, visual arts and audiovisual media artists made with Fonca’s support over the course of a year. We will find a diverse selection, without thematic conceptions pre-established by a curatorship.
